Rwanda National Carrier Begins Flights to Lagos

The Rwandan national carrier, RwandAir, will soon start operations from Lagos to the African nation’s capital, Kigali.

The airline would on December 2, commence scheduled passenger flight to Nigeria with the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) as point of entry.

To realize this objective, the ambassador of Rwanda in Nigeria, Mr. Joseph Habineza led the RwandAir Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Nkulikiyimfura to a meeting with the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to the regulatory body’s headquarters in at the Lagos airport.

According to a statement issued by the head of media, NCAA, Sam Adurogboye, Demuren had accordingly put machinery in place for the necessary scrutiny of the airline and this include security manual and certification of the Boeing 737 series 600, which the airline would be using to operate the route.

The outcome of the exercise, Adurogboye noted, would determine whether or not the operation would go ahead as planned.

THISDAY learnt that Mr Olufemi Adefope had been appointed General Sales Agent (GSA) for the airline and was on the entourage when the team visited NCAA.
